The Training & Knowledge Transfer Consultant supports the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program by leading training coordination and post-deployment knowledge transfer activities across EHR deployment waves. This role ensures end-users and sustainment teams are properly equipped to support long-term adoption and operational readiness of the Federal EHR system. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate training activities aligned with deployment and cutover timelines, ensuring alignment with facility readiness and end-user onboarding. • Collaborate with the EHRM Training Lead, Change Management Team, and Deployment Teams to synchronize training schedules, environments, and content delivery. • Ensure clinical and administrative users receive timely and role-appropriate training, including pre-go-live, go-live, and post-go-live reinforcement sessions. • Support the development and delivery of tailored training materials, quick-reference guides, and deployment toolkits in collaboration with content developers and trainers. • Lead knowledge transfer activities between deployment teams and sustainment organizations, including technical handoffs, process documentation, and support models. • Monitor training completion rates, user readiness scores, and adoption metrics to identify gaps and recommend targeted training interventions. • Document lessons learned from each deployment site to enhance training strategies and improve future implementations. • Maintain knowledge repositories, including documentation libraries and role-based learning content, to ensure long-term accessibility and reference for local site support teams. • Participate in stakeholder briefings, cutover planning sessions, and sustainment readiness reviews to integrate training and knowledge transfer activities into broader deployment efforts. Qualifications and Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Informatics, Organizational Development, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in training development, instructional design, or knowledge management in a healthcare, IT, or federal environment. • Experience supporting training or knowledge transfer efforts for Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations, preferably Oracle Health (Cerner) or other large-scale platforms. • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience working across clinical, technical, and administrative user groups. • Familiarity with adult learning principles, change management frameworks, and end-user engagement techniques. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and learning management systems. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense health IT initiatives. • Certification in instructional design, project management, or change management (e.g., PMP, Prosci, ATD). • Clinical background or experience working with healthcare providers is a plus. Key Deliverables: • Training Schedules and Readiness Plans will be developed to ensure all personnel are prepared for system adoption. • Training Completion Dashboards will be created to track participation and monitor progress across user groups. • Knowledge Transfer Packages will be assembled to support the effective transition of responsibilities to sustainment teams. • Sustainment Handoff Documentation will be provided to guide ongoing support and maintenance activities post-deployment. • Post-Deployment Training Reports and Lessons Learned will be compiled to evaluate training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
