We are looking to expand our coverage of other sports including American football, basketball and baseball. We’re looking for freelance Sports Writers to cover NFL, NBA, and MLB content (features and lists). The ideal candidate will have an eye for identifying trending stories, a sharp editorial voice, and the ability to produce high-quality content in an efficient and impactful manner. Your Responsibilities • You will have to contribute reliably and consistently (a min. of 10 articles per week). • We give our writers access to a list of topics from which to choose, however, we also expect writers to pitch their own topics. • You will be responsible for providing and formatting images or relevant embeds for your articles. • You will need to take on feedback and make revisions to articles when necessary. • You will need to stay up to date on the latest sports news including stats, matches, injuries, etc. • You will need to Input work into our in-house CMS following our style and formatting guidelines. Experience and Skills • Strong knowledge and passion for sports (NBA, NFL,MLB). • Proven experience in sports writing for a digital publication. • Familiarity with SEO best practices. • Experience optimizing content for Facebook and Discover is a big plus! • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
