Technical Design Assistant (Women's Apparel)

The Technical Design Assistant will support the design team by creating technical designs, maintaining communication with partners, and ensuring high-quality standards. Responsibilities Assists with fittings and prepare fit comments, including measuring samples, sketching (flat technical sketches with detail) and analyzing garment construction Tracks and ships samples; receives and logs all incoming/outgoing samples, etc Measures all fit samples through all production stages against required specifications and analyzes any discrepancies or inconsistencies with the Technical Designer Assists, when needed, the Technical Designer with the resolution of any such fit sample discrepancies and/or problems Maintain and update all technical files, Tech Packs and status charts in Excel Communicate daily via email with overseas factories and vendors regarding fit, specifications, grading issues and garment construction via fit comments Attention to detail, organization and excellent computer skills required Skills Bachelor, Associate, or Technical Degree in Patternmaking or/and Technical Design 1-2 years technical design or pattern-making work experience Knowledge of measuring and flat sketching, a plus Strong understanding of garment construction, design and production process Strong organizational skills and detail oriented Strong Communication skills (verbal and written) Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with deadlines Strong computer skills and technical knowledge of productivity tools; including Blue Cherry (or other PLM software), Excel and Adobe Illustrator Company Overview Adrianna Papell has been dressing women of all ages and silhouettes, and offers fashion solutions to meet all budgets.
