Job Title: Technical Co-Founder – AI & Robotics Startup Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid Onsite) About Us We’re an early-stage robotics and AI startup on a mission to make it dramatically easier for companies to apply physical AI to real-world robots. We focus on robotic manipulation with a mission to help engineers seamlessly integrate AI into robots and drastically reduce the cost and complexity of robot programming and deployment compared to traditional methods. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape our technical roadmap and turn cutting-edge research into impactful products. We’re now looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Engineering Lead or Lead Researcher and potential Co-Founder to help drive the development of our AI-driven robotics platform. About the Role In this role, you will define and execute the technology roadmap, driving innovation at the intersection of AI and robotics. As the technical lead, you’ll develop the engineering roadmap and work closely with the founder to translate product vision into working prototypes and scalable systems. You’ll have the opportunity to step into a co-founder role based on mutual fit and impact. We’re especially excited to meet candidates with strong software engineering and AI expertise who are passionate about robotics—and who are eager to turn cutting-edge research into real-world products. What You’ll Do Oversee the development of scalable AI infrastructure for robotics applications. Build, mentor, and scale a technical team Lead and manage a team of contractors, growing the technical team as the company scales. Foster a collaborative, startup-oriented culture to achieve technical milestones. Represent the company in investor and strategic conversations Provide technical insights and demonstrate a clear vision for the product roadmap and market applications. Collaborate with co-founder to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Work hands-on with early customers on pilot deployments and feedback loops Stay current on advances in robot foundation models (RFMs), Imitation Learning (IL), and Vision Language Action (VLA) AI models. What We’re Looking For Strong background in software engineering, AI, and robotics Deep knowledge of AI for robotics, including robot foundation models and imitation learning models Industry or academic experience with robotic manipulation, automation systems, or control Experience leading engineering projects and working cross-functionally Startup mindset - comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and wearing many hats Advanced degree in CS, AI, Robotics, or equivalent experience (PhD is a plus but not required) Bonus: prior experience in early-stage startups, and/or building and managing technical teams Note: This role has a potential co-founder title and equity , based on mutual interest and fit.
