What You Will Be Doing • Orchestrating dynamic morning kickoff sessions that inspire and mentally prepare student-athletes for daily excellence • Conducting impactful one-on-one mentoring conversations focused on personal growth and academic achievement • Designing and delivering powerful life skills workshops that translate athletic principles into everyday success • Commanding afternoon athletic training that deliberately cultivates mental toughness, collaborative spirit, and personal responsibility • Implementing progress monitoring systems that maintain elite standards across both character development and performance metrics What You Won’t Be Doing • Delivering conventional academic instruction in classroom settings • Taking a passive role in student-athlete development • Conducting purposeless or casually organized training sessions • Handling clerical responsibilities or academic assessment duties • Working with casual participants or athletes without competitive aspirations Sports Mentor Key Responsibilities Guide exceptional student-athletes through structured daily mentorship and motivation programs designed to elevate academic performance and essential life competencies by leveraging the principles and discipline inherent in elite athletic training. Basic Requirements • Distinguished athletic background at the highest competitive levels—Olympic participants, World Championship competitors, professional athletes from major leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL), or NCAA Division I All-American honorees • Completed undergraduate degree (field of study open) • Established track record of utilizing sports as a vehicle for character development and life skills coaching • Verifiable history of inspirational leadership across athletic, educational, or professional environments • Authorization to work within the United States without requiring visa sponsorship • Commitment to residing in the Austin, TX area About Sports Academy Texas Sports Academy is Where Future Champions Excel in Academics and Athletics Traditional schools force student-athletes to choose between excelling in academics or committing to their sport. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
