APPLICATION LINK JOB DESCRIPTION Company Overview: Ship Creek Group (SCG) specializes in projects with clear end goals that require multiple competencies, including local campaigns, ballot initiatives, and marketing for nonprofits. We are a one-stop-shop, our work ranges from coordinating a candidate’s schedule, to rebranding local nonprofits and small businesses, to shooting and producing professional TV commercials. Our team is built around the idea that a small group of folks with shared values and different skills can get stuff done more effectively by working together. We adhere to the simple premise that our work should push forward leaders, organizations, and ideas that raise the bar in our community. We also anticipate potential statewide campaign work (U.S. Senate, Governor, or U.S. House) in the near future. If that moves forward we’ll be helping to hire a dedicated Finance Director for that campaign. A Finance Director for a potential statewide campaign (such as U.S. Senate, Governor, or Congress) would have the chance to build your own team, develop systems, and design the program from the ground up. If you're interested in that opportunity, please reach out directly for more details. Compensation and benefits for that position will be negotiated separately and will differ from what is listed here. Position: Finance Director /Deputy Finance Director (Depending on experience) Location: Anchorage, AK (Position requires in-person and remote work) Job type: Full-Time Exempt (Permanent role subject to the outcome of a bi-directional check in after 6 months) Start date: January 2026 (flexible) Salary range:$70,000-$90,000/year, commensurate with role and experience Reports to: Kim Jones, Head of Finance and Data Teams Benefits: 5 weeks PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, retirement plan, profit-sharing opportunities About the Roles: We’re currently hiring for a senior fundraising position—either a Finance Director or Deputy Finance Director—depending on your experience and where you best fit within our growing team. Salary will flex based on experience, with room to grow in future cycles. We believe great candidates don’t always follow a traditional path. While this role involves leading fundraising programs, you don’t need a background in fundraising to succeed. If you bring strong management skills, political instincts, and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide on-the-ground training and team support to set you up for success. Please treat the description below as a guide—not a checklist. If this sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you. Bottom line: we’ve got a strong structure, a talented team, and big things on the horizon. We’re looking for someone who can grow with us and help shape what’s next. Position Summary: SCG is hiring a Finance Director or Deputy Finance Director to lead fundraising strategy and execution across a range of campaigns and projects. Depending on your experience and placement, this role may involve managing key programs within a collaborative team—or overseeing the entire fundraising operation, including direct reports and cross-functional coordination. Fundraising programs will be tailored to each client’s needs and may include calltime, events, donor prospecting, PAC outreach, and direct mail. You’ll work closely with our compliance team to ensure all fundraising activities are properly documented and reported to APOC or the FEC, and you’ll coordinate with Campaign and Project Managers to keep messaging aligned and effective. If hired as Finance Director, you’ll also supervise the fundraising work of our Digital Content Producer (who splits time between the Fundraising and Digital teams) and serve on SCG’s Senior Leadership Team, helping shape the firm’s strategy and direction.
