Senior Software Engineer

Role Description Mercor is recruiting Senior Software Engineers with “Rust” expertise based in the U.S. and Europe for research projects with leading AI labs. Involve a variety of common programming tasks, including debugging, refactoring, and writing test cases for complex code repositories. You will interface with prominent AI researchers from top labs. The work is fully asynchronous and can be done around your schedule. Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, with the possibility to work up to 40 hours per week, depending on the quality of work. Successful contributions increase the odds that you will be selected for future projects with Mercor. Qualifications Deep expertise in Rust and concurrent programming. 3+ years of experience in production-grade backend systems. Significant contributions to open-source Rust projects. Requirements We can meet industry-standard compensation expectations for your current role. Payment will be made at the end of each week via Stripe Connect based on the number of hours logged. You will be classified as an “at-will” contractor to Mercor. We cannot currently support H1-B or STEM OPT status candidates. The advertised pay range is for U.S.-based applicants; the pay range will vary depending on geographic location, but we aim to keep compensation competitive for all areas.
