Senior Project Manager, AI Data & Operations

Remote, USA Full-time
Description Defined.ai is a leading provider of high-quality, ethically sourced data for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) model training. We host the world's largest AI marketplace and offer end-to-end services to help companies accelerate their AI solutions. Backed by significant funding and recognized globally for our commitment to ethical AI, we operate in a fast-paced, innovative environment with offices in Seattle and Lisbon. Who are we looking for? We're looking for a Senior Product Manager for AI Data - you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of the data that powers our Artificial Intelligence models. You aren’t just managing a feature; you are managing the foundational fuel for our AI. You will lead the strategy for large-scale data collection, high-fidelity transcription (audio/speech-to-text), and complex semantic annotation. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Planning & Execution • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management. • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. • Manage project interdependencies and identify potential "bottlenecks" before they impact the timeline. 2. Financial & Resource Management • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. • Negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company. 3. Stakeholder Leadership • Act as the primary point of contact for project sponsors and executive leadership. • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability. 4. Risk Mitigation & Quality Assurance • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in AI. • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred). • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is mandatory. • Expert knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid models. • Proficiency in Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, or Monday.com. Benefits You spend a lot of your time at work, so it should be challenging, fun and interesting. At Defined.ai it will be all of those things and more. Here’s what we offer: • Flexible working schedule and hybrid model. We know comfort can boost creativity and performance, so you can manage your schedule and work both from one of our modern office spaces or home. • Excellent career development opportunities in a high growth company. With us, you can accomplish your career goals and follow a well-described career path with the support of your supervisor. • Culture of feedback and continuous improvement. AI is a fast-paced area, so we keep track of tech trends, and we always ask for feedback. • An international and diverse team. We have more than 30 nationalities at our 3 locations, and we provide language classes. • Continuous training opportunities. You can choose from many options: leveraging hand-on workshops, unlimited access to Coursera and formal development opportunities. • We love to have fun together. We joke a lot, and we can't imagine work without fun activities – we already surfed, raced carts and played soccer together. Privacy Notice: defined.ai/candidate-privacy-statement Apply tot his job
