Seeking Remote Content Moderators!
Are you passionate about making education and career resources more accessible? Are you looking for a way to volunteer from the comfort of your own home? Well, CareerVillage.org has the perfect opportunity for you! We are an online nonprofit that connects students with free career advice given by real professionals in the field. We are currently seeking enthusiastic moderators to help us perform the crucial task of reviewing all of the content that gets posted to the site. This is a completely remote opportunity which means that you can volunteer with us at any time from any location (yes, even from your bed!). Quick facts about being a CareerVillage "mod": • 100% Remote • Easy to do • No assigned hours or shifts • No minimum commitment • Independent • Must be highly fluent in English • Smartphone, tablet, or computer-based • 45 minutes - 1 hour of training • No minimum age - students welcome! • Great volunteering option for folks with disabilities • Get volunteer hours verified for school, work, or other requirements • Learn professional development & career prep facts while you volunteer! • High social impact! What makes an exceptional moderator? • Eye for detail - As one of the first people to read posted content, you will be in charge of making sure that posts fit our community guidelines and that nothing slips through the cracks • Can follow directions - You will need to moderate based on our Community Guidelines, and raise an alarm when something needs immediate attention • Confident reader who can pick up on tone and mood • Good Judgement - You will need to decide if content should be approved or flagged for further review • Communication - You will report to a supervisor and must be aware of messages & announcements • Experience using Slack is a plus, but not necessary! • Passionate about helping young people prepare for their careers Apply tot his job
