Remote Portfolio Manager - CANADA

The Portfolio Manager plays a key role in driving strategy execution within IT by aligning investments, programs, and initiatives to business objectives. Reporting into Enterprise Technology Resources (ETP) and operating within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) model, this role is responsible for managing the flow of value across portfolios, ensuring transparency, effective governance, and alignment of technology delivery with enterprise strategy. The Portfolio Manager partners closely with business and IT leaders, Release Train Engineers, Product Management & Ownership, and Agile teams to enable informed decision-making and maximize return on investment. Key Responsibilities: • Partner with IT and business leadership to define, prioritize, and manage the portfolio of capabilities in alignment with enterprise strategy. • Partner with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Product Management, and Business Owners to ensure Agile Release Trains are aligned to portfolio priorities and delivering incremental value against strategic objectives. • Facilitate Lean Portfolio Management practices as defined by SAFe, including portfolio strategy, investment funding, and governance. • Facilitate visibility and coordination across Agile Release Trains (ARTs), managing dependencies, risks, and resource alignment to optimize delivery flow. • Maintain and continuously improve portfolio-level Kanban systems, metrics, and reporting for visibility and transparency. • Support PI (Program Increment) planning activities by ensuring portfolio priorities, roadmaps, and funding guardrails are clearly communicated to ARTs. • Collaborate with Epic Owners and Business Owners to define business cases, evaluate value streams, and ensure proper prioritization of epics. • Provide guidance and coaching on portfolio practices to stakeholders, leaders, and teams across IT. • Collaborate with Finance and Business Owners to ensure lean budgeting and funding align to ART capacity and evolving portfolio needs. • Ensure portfolio reporting highlights progress, risks, dependencies, and impacts to leadership and executive stakeholders. • Drive continuous improvement in portfolio management processes, governance, and delivery flow. • In partnership with RTEs, coach leaders and stakeholders on portfolio practices, reinforcing alignment between strategy and ART execution.
