Python Developer / Data Scientist Needed for AI & Machine Learning Module Development - Contract to Hire

Remote, USA Full-time
We are a startup with a small budget seeking a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, or Python Developer to enhance and expand AI-powered modules within our system. This role includes refining a classification model, finalizing Named Entity Recognition (NER) models, and developing program pricing and coding modules. If you have experience in ML model optimization, document classification, and pipeline integration, this project is for you! Responsibilities: Enhance Classification Model: Improve accuracy for document categorization into RFP, BID, REBATE, MSC, and ERR categories through feature extraction, model optimization, and evaluation. Complete Named Entity Recognition (NER) Models: Finalize three NER models to accurately extract essential information from Customer, Bid, and Rebate documents. Develop Program Pricing and Coding Modules: Create modules to request, parse, and integrate program pricing from manufacturers, implementing APIs, flexible parsing, and transaction-based machine learning. Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing to ensure models are accurate, efficient, and integrate seamlessly with existing systems. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with the development team, contribute to code documentation, and ensure smooth integration of your work into the project. Compensation: $500 for the full MVP project. Payments are made upon completion, testing, and verification of the project's deliverables. Expectations: Standup Meetings: Participate in Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 15-minute sprint standups. Sprint Review and Planning: Join 1-hour sessions every other Saturday (sprint review) and Sunday (sprint planning). Communication: Use Slack for daily communication and project management tools (JIRA or ClickUp). Version Control: Experience with GitHub is required, including managing branches and facilitating code reviews. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other developers and team members to ensure cohesive product development. Skills Required: Strong Python Skills: Proficiency with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, spaCy, or Hugging Face Transformers. Machine Learning Expertise: Experience in document classification, NER model development, data preprocessing, and ML model deployment. Database Integration: Familiarity with integrating models with databases and real-time monitoring systems. API Development: Knowledge of implementing and integrating APIs for data retrieval and processing. Data Parsing and Processing: Ability to perform flexible parsing and manage transaction-based machine learning tasks. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize ML models. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective collaboration with the team. Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and working in a sprint-based development environment. Apply tot his job
