About us Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we’re always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: About the role We’re looking for a detail-obsessed Junior PM who will own task breakdown and backlog management, transforming high-level requirements into crystal-clear, production-ready tasks that keep our team moving fast. You’ll be the clarity engine – ensuring every task is complete, unambiguous, and ready for execution without back-and-forth questions. Key Responsibilities Own task breakdown: Take feature requirements and break them into clear, actionable tasks that developers, data analysts, or other teams can execute without confusion. Manage the backlog: Maintain a 7-day forward-looking backlog at all times, ensuring the team always knows what’s next. Ensure task quality: Every task you create must include Why (business reason), What (exact requirements), Acceptance Criteria (how we know it’s done), Definition of Done (technical checklist), and corner cases covered. Work with the Project Owner: Translate high-level product strategy into detailed execution plans. Keep everything tracked: 100% of tasks live in our task management system – zero work happens outside the system. Achieve 90%+ quality rate: Your tasks should rarely need revisions because they’re complete and clear from the start. Qualifications Required Experience: 1–2 years in project coordination, product operations, or task management roles. Hands-on experience with task management tools (Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Linear, or similar). Proven ability to write clear, detailed documentation or task descriptions. Track record of working in structured, process-driven environments. Required Skills: Exceptional attention to detail – you naturally think about edge cases, corner scenarios, and “what could go wrong”. Strong written communication – you can explain complex requirements clearly and concisely without ambiguity. Fast learner – you can absorb new processes and frameworks in days, not weeks. Structured thinking – you love systems, frameworks, and bringing order to chaos. Required Traits: High energy and work ethic – ready to work intensely, especially during your first 2 weeks of onboarding. Ownership mindset – you don’t wait to be told what to do; you proactively identify gaps and solve problems. Comfortable with fast pace – you thrive in environments where priorities can shift and speed matters. Precision-focused – you get genuine satisfaction from creating perfectly structured, unambiguous tasks. Nice to have Experience in tech/digital product companies. Familiarity with agile methodologies or sprint planning. Basic understanding of software development workflows. Previous experience supporting engineering or product teams. A Few Words About Our Culture We move very fast, and things change often. We are leaders in our niche, and this pace is the price we pay to stay on top. This environment is perfect for you if: You love the intensity of fast-moving teams. You want to see your work create an immediate impact. You’re energized by structure and accountability. You’re ambitious and want to grow quickly. This environment is NOT for you if: You prefer slow, predictable 9-to-5 routines. You need constant hand-holding or detailed instructions. You’re uncomfortable with change and shifting priorities. How does this sound to you? We want to be completely honest up front.
