Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, with proficiency in various coding systems such as DRG, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10. The Medical Biller will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing processes, managing medical records, and facilitating collections while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities • Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10). • Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing. • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely payments. • Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and coding updates to ensure compliance. • Utilize EMR and EHR systems effectively for record management and billing processes. • Assist in the collection of outstanding balances from patients while adhering to ethical standards. • Collaborate with the medical office team to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is essential. • Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and general medical terminology. • Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required for managing multiple tasks effectively. • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and insurance representatives. • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
