We offer competitive compensation in addition to an attractive benefits package for qualified employees.Job Title: Machine Shop HelperEmployee Type: Full Time, HourlyReports to: Machining ManagerShifts Available: Friday - Sunday; 5:00am-5:30pm & Friday - Sunday; 5:00pm - 5:30amRate: $16.00 - $18.00/hr DOEShift Differential: $3.00/hr shift differential in addition to hourly rateJob Location: Wichita, KS, USAJob Duties Assist Lead Machinist and other machinists on shiftClean the shop equipment and work area as instructedParticipate in organization of shop tools and partsRemove and maintain chips from machining operations until recycledEnsure solids scrap bins are properly identified and monitoredMove and stage materials & suppliesClean up shavings from machine areasMove raw and scrap materials, finished products and equipment throughout the facility, as neededPerform necessary housekeeping activities, this includes, but is not limited to, the picking up of all debris that results from production activities, this includes proper storage of all materials and equipment when they are not in use as well as all other materials which may be offensive or hazardousWork with Machine operators loading parts into machineryDeliver parts and or materials to work areas as requiredRequirementsHigh School Diploma/GED requiredPrevious manufacturing or machining environment requiredExperience in Machine Shop preferredCandidate current enrollment in CNC Machining program is preferredStrong attention to safety and able to adhere to OSHA and company safety regulationsAble to read and interpret job orders and other documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualMust have good attendance and be dependableMust have reliable transportationMust be able to lift and carry a minimum 50 lbsMust be a US citizen; position not eligible for sponsorship.Physical RequirementsThe essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, and to walk for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others in the office. Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve items. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Writing to complete reports and service requests. Occasionally Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs. Must be able to wear safety PPE equipment, as required.
