Program Overview RIVA Solutions supports the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), International Trade Administration (ITA), in establishing and operating an AI Center of Excellence (AI-CoE) under the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This program advances IT modernization by designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that strengthen mission outcomes across the Commerce enterprise. The AI-CoE provides AI application development, model lifecycle management, data engineering, security support, quality assurance, and Agile delivery services that enable DOC to mature toward higher levels of operational and technological excellence. RIVA’s work ensures that AI tools and systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with federal cloud and data strategies. Position Overview RIVA Solutions is seeking a Low Code AI Engineer (Key Personnel) to support the development, deployment, and monitoring of AI and machine learning capabilities within the AI Center of Excellence. This role is responsible for building predictive models, managing data preprocessing workflows, scaling prototypes into production, and creating automated ML pipelines that accelerate delivery across the agency. This is a Key Personnel role requiring a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust investigation. This position is fully remote within the United States. Core Responsibilities • Develop AI/ML algorithms and predictive models supporting enterprise mission needs. • Preprocess, structure, and validate data to ensure accuracy and completeness for AI model inputs. • Scale prototypes into production-ready machine learning models. • Automate and orchestrate ML pipelines to support deployment and continuous integration. • Deploy, serve, monitor, and optimize ML systems in production environments. • Support the management and enhancement of new and existing AI models and pipelines. • Apply low-code and configuration-first development approaches to accelerate delivery. • Document model workflows, pipelines, and technical implementation details. • Collaborate with AI Developers, Data Engineers, Scrum Masters, and federal stakeholders in Agile/Scrum environments. • Stay informed on emerging AI tools, technologies, and best practices to improve solution quality and scalability. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. • Minimum 2 years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data engineering, or related fields. • Experience building, training, evaluating, and deploying ML models. • Familiarity with low-code AI development frameworks, workflow automation, or MLOps tools. • Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model tuning. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • U.S. Citizenship required. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust investigation. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting federal government or public-sector technology programs. • Familiarity with cloud-native AI services (AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI). • Exposure to MLOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, or ML service deployment. • Experience with deep learning, NLP, time-series modeling, or other advanced ML techniques. • Certifications in AI/ML, cloud engineering, or data analytics are a plus. Salary Salary commensurate with experience, up to $130,000/ yearly with benefits.
