This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Georgia (USA), Illinois (USA) LEAD Data Engineer - Big Data (Principle Engineer - Data Engineering) Atlanta, GA - 100% Remote Position 6 Months Contract Position 8+ solid years of experience desired. Must have Palantir Foundry. SME Experience Develops and supports business application utilizing latest Big Data technologies in a Cloud based development environment. Helps to define and analyze business requirements for Enterprise scale reports. Analyzes and evaluates business use cases for data engineering problems and helps design and develop processing solutions with ETL Cloud based technologies. The ideal candidate will not only architect and manage complex data pipelines but also work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights through data analysis. This is a cross-functional leadership role interfacing between data engineering, data analytics, and business strategy. Key Functions/Responsibilities: • Create best practices in cloud-based data analytics technologies to collect and analyze large amounts of manufacturing data to advance the state of the art in efficiency optimization and predictive analytics. •Architect and maintain transformation data pipelines to curate and report on large-scale, Enterprise wide financial data supporting Business Analysts in analyzing and reporting to leadership. •Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to elicit and understand requirements •Lead the end-to-end delivery of data-driven solutions •Work with a team of business analysts and data engineers focused on delivering a wide array of big data solutions using cutting edge technologies in both oversight and as practitioner. •Guide the organization in efficient data and resource management best practices with cloud-based data platforms and services. •Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar Technical Expertise: • 8 - 10 years of strong Data Engineering experience. Practical Experience in the following areas: •Hands-on experience in Palantir Foundry to design and implement scalable data solutions. •Experience with Hadoop-based technologies including, but not limited to: Hive, PySpark, etc. •Experience in one of the following programming languages: Python/Java •Experience with ETL concepts and able to demonstrate working knowledge in one ETL technology. •Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services. •Experience with NoSQL (HBase, MongoDB, etc) and RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) data stores. •Strong data Engineering skills including full agile software development lifecycle including design, implementation, unit testing techniques and able to participate in peer review. •Familiarity with source control systems, specifically Git. •Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities. •Strong Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
