About the position Ansell is looking for a Lead Counsel Corporate Affairs to join our team in Iselin, NJ! In this position you will play a vital role in leading the intersection of law and global business strategy. As Lead Counsel, Corporate Affairs, you'll be the trusted legal advisor to Ansell's Global Corporate Functions, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of a world-leading company in protection solutions. In this high-impact position, you'll provide strategic, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal counsel that supports key business decisions and drives innovation. Acting as the single point of contact for corporate legal matters, you'll ensure legal excellence while enabling our teams to move forward with confidence and clarity. Responsibilities • Provide strategic legal counsel on Labor & Employment matters, including hiring, terminations, workplace policies, employee relations, and compliance. • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and compliance documents; manage disputes, grievances, and litigation. • Support HR in disciplinary actions, investigations, conflict resolution, and employee training on legal and regulatory matters. • Advise on labor law compliance, risk mitigation, and best practices. • Provide legal support on IT and data privacy matters, including drafting and negotiating IT contracts (e.g., vendor, cloud, licensing, consulting). • Collaborate with the Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with data privacy laws; guide on cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives. • Advise on regulatory compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution in tech operations. • Offer legal guidance on financial regulations, corporate governance, and compliance. • Draft and negotiate finance-related agreements, support M&A and corporate transactions, and assist in risk mitigation strategies. • Partner with finance teams to structure deals and ensure legal integrity. • Support marketing, product, and brand strategy with legal advice on advertising, product claims, e-commerce, influencer deals, and regulatory compliance. • Ensure alignment with privacy and consumer protection laws across marketing initiatives. • Serve as a legal liaison to internal stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance, Marketing, and Business Units. • Coordinate with and manage external counsel and collaborate with regional legal teams. • Provide general commercial legal support and company secretarial services, ensuring governance compliance across global entities. • Stay abreast of evolving laws and proactively advise on necessary legal and policy adjustments. • Contribute to crisis management and reputational risk strategies. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree required. • Juris Doctor (or equivalent law degree) from a law school of recognized standing. • Admitted and member in good standing with the New Jersey bar or qualify for limited in-house counsel license. • 5-7 years of L&E/Corporate/Commercial/Transactional experience at a law firm or, preferably, in-house legal department of a multinational company. • Skilled and experienced with drafting and negotiating complex contracts and documents. • Commercial business acumen and experience. • Experience with litigation and M&A. • Experience with international (B2B) business and exposure to international (outside US) laws, regulations, and practices. • Demonstrated competency and comfort in counseling of senior management/leadership.
