The Junior Project Specialist (Junior Consultant) supports project execution by assisting with planning, research, data collection, and documentation, with a focus on culturally sensitive engagement with Navajo and Indigenous communities. This role supports consulting engagements, project management activities, and document production to ensure project objectives are met. Key Responsibilities: • Support the Project Specialist or Project Manager in planning and scheduling consulting engagements, community engagement activities, and project management tasks, ensuring cultural considerations are integrated. • Gather, analyze, and compose research information and technical documentation, ensuring the use of proper technical terminology relevant to community planning and Indigenous contexts. • Conduct research to support strategic planning, collecting demographic, economic, or survey data to inform project deliverables and align with Indigenous priorities. • Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings and workshops, preparing culturally appropriate materials and documenting feedback from Navajo and Indigenous communities. • Interpret and review documentation, collaborating with the team to determine editing and graphics needs for major documentation tasks and project deliverables. • Establish schedules for document production and conduct quality assurance/control inspections at specific intervals to ensure standards are met. • Provide administrative support, including managing correspondence, coordinating logistics, and tracking project milestones for community-focused activities. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in urban studies, public administration, business management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. • Minimum of 1 year of experience in management consulting or a related industry, with exposure to facilitation, process reengineering, or organizational development. • Experience gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information and documentation, with attention to proper technical terminology. • Demonstrated ability to support planning and scheduling of consulting engagements, project management activities, or community engagement efforts. • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Basecamp). • Ability to conduct quality assurance/control inspections and manage document production schedules. • Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in culturally sensitive settings, particularly with Indigenous communities. • Preference: Proficiency in the Navajo language and/or Indigenous descent, particularly Navajo, to support community engagement efforts.
