Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer- Early Career

They are seeking an early-career Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to modernize critical systems at power-generating facilities, transitioning from analog to advanced digital technologies. Responsibilities Perform a variety of challenging design engineering tasks, including preparing Engineering Change Packages (ECPs) to upgrade obsolete analog systems with state-of-the-art digital platforms Conduct engineering calculations, develop design studies, and contribute to project scopes and cost estimates Review technical documentation from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure hardware and software meet project requirements Collaborate closely with project managers and clients, providing input for budget and schedule planning while participating in project meetings to ensure alignment and success Understand regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards specific to digital I&C systems to deliver safe, compliant, and innovative solutions Travel to plant sites, interface with client personnel, and perform walk-downs of plant systems and components Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and team members through professional communication and quality engineering work Skills Completed a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university Available to start in the next 1-2 months Demonstrated proficiency in the preparation of electrical calculations Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution Ability to travel for client and company projects and/or meetings Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks according to company and client policies Completion of pre interview assessments Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship Design modification experiences preferred Benefits Enjoy full benefits for you and your dependents starting day one, no waiting period Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid and alternative schedules 401(k) with employer matching Tuition reimbursement Professional Engineer (PE) license support and incentives Company Overview ENERCON is a multi-discipline engineering and environmental engineering support services firm focused on delivering safe and efficient solutions for the power, data center and industrial sectors.
