What You’ll Do The HospitalFacilities Maintenance Technician will assist with maintenance work necessary to keep the building and associated equipment of the hospital in good working order. The Technician will help with minor maintenance and repair duties, and assists the maintenance department with any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing, light carpentry/painting and HVAC work. Will perform manual duties as requested and assist on any projects/assignments as requested by management, as needed. (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, unclog toilettes, painting, etc.). The Technician will keep job site/area clean, safe, and organized. Requirements: Hospital Facilities Maintenance Technician is an ENTRY LEVEL position. • Must successfully pass criminal background check. • Must complete and/or take all required health screenings and vaccines. • Must have a valid/unexpired state issued drivers license; in good standing with a clean driving record; along with reliable transportation to get to and from work • Great attitude, eager to learn, dependable • Able to lift 50+ lbs, work in crawlspaces, hot/cold conditions • Construction or mechanical, electrical or plumbing experience is a plus, but not required • OSHA 10 certification - not required, but nice to have • Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. • Ability to read and hear to interpret documents and announcements such as safety rules and alerts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. • Working computer/tech knowledge. Physical Demands: • While performing the duties of Facility Engineer I, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; and with explosives and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation and vibration.
