Healthcare Data Analyst – Albany, NY Office of Quality & Patient Safety (OQPS) Item 1292 This role has a 50% onsite work component. Summary The Data Analyst will work within the Center for Applied Research and Evaluation (CARE) in the Office of Health Services Quality and Analytics (OHSQA), whose mission is to use health information to improve equitable health outcomes, efficiency, and value within the Department of Health and in the broader health community in New York State. The incumbent will be supporting data analytics for the Integrated Care for Kids (InCK) program within the Bureau of Clinical Research and Evaluation. The Bureau is responsible for evaluation and research of various Medicaid programs and initiatives related to the quality of primary care health services, e.g., the InCK model, and NYS Patient-centered Medical Home (NYSPCMH) program. Within the unit the incumbent will join is engaged in multiple projects in support of the above including additional research. Specific duties include: Work with other senior research scientists in the Bureau to intake and process data for the InCK project. Updating and calculating InCK quality measures following CMS documentation. Maintaining and updating internal InCK documentation, timelines, and checklists. Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders on ensuring InCK data reliability and quality for both quality measures calculated internally and externally. Utilize programming languages including SQL and SAS to extract data and conduct analysis to evaluate the program impact on health outcomes. Conduct ad hoc quantitative and qualitative studies to answer stakeholder questions. Participate in research activities, including statistical analyses, contributing to writing reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts. Basic Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in public health, health informatics, data analytics, epidemiology, statistics, public administration, government analytics, mathematics, social sciences, engineering, health economics, finance, or a related degree and two years of professional post degree research experience in the appropriate field, or a master’s degree in the appropriate field and one year of professional post degree research experience in the appropriate field. Experience with statistical analysis, data extraction, and data management using SAS, SQL, or R. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in program evaluation and research. Knowledge of study design and research methods. Experience with healthcare claims data and electronic health records (EHR) data. Excellent communication, organization, and program management skills. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment. Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
