About the Role & Program This is an exciting opportunity to join our Live Entertainment Advanced Development (LEAD) team as a full-time 6-month internship. As a Disney Live Entertainment Advanced Development Creative Intern, you'll be part of a research and development studio that identifies and develops groundbreaking artistic talent, new technologies, and grows the future of live entertainment in our parks globally. You'll work closely with our LEAD and Disney Live Entertainment teams to support various phases of live entertainment projects, craft pitch and research decks, and assist Creative and Art Directors in creating concept art, storyboards, and more. Key Responsibilities Support the LEAD and Disney Live Entertainment teams through various phases of live entertainment projects. Craft and design pitch and research decks/presentations. Assist Creative and Art Directors in the creation of concept art, storyboards, quick sketches, photo-bashing, etc. Provide research to support projects and present findings. Coordinate brainstorms and fulfill creative assignments, which may include research, creative summaries, treatments, presentation boards, and digital presentations. Prioritize and attend meetings with LEAD, Entertainment Production, and other teams and participants. Support various production events, such as mockups and work sessions. Gain a deep understanding of the role of Live Entertainment in Parks and Resorts by visiting and touring the parks, participating in customized learning sessions, and becoming an integral member of the team. Required Qualifications & Skills To be successful in this role, you'll need: A validated understanding and experience driving artistic and design projects, such as concept art, illustrations, storyboards, sketches, modeling, and photo-basing, etc. An understanding of story development. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A self-starting demeanor and flexibility. Critical thinking, using conclusive reasoning to resolve the best course of action in any research. A basic knowledge of the performing arts industry, specifically theater or immersive experiences. The ability to work on multiple projects at once, prioritize tasks, and handle confidential information in a fast-paced environment. Validated strength with Keynote, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word and Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Preferred Qualifications & Skills While not required, experience and/or knowledge of theater or event coordination would be a valuable asset in this role. Education To be eligible for this internship, you must: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program. Have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting. Currently be participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Be a Senior, recent graduate, or graduate student earning a degree in Illustration, Animation, Communications, Digital Media, Design, Writing, or a related field. Please note that only PDF files and URL links will be considered for review. Eligibility Requirements To be considered for this opportunity, you must: Be at least 18 years of age. Possess unrestricted work authorization. Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program. Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines. Be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week, with possible nights and weekends) for the duration of the internship. Be able to provide your own housing in the Glendale, CA area and have reliable transportation to/from work. Compensation & Benefits The pay rate for this role in California is $26.50 per hour.
