What You’ll Do As an Engineering Manager on the Computer Vision team, you’ll lead a group of highly skilled engineers responsible for developing, deploying, and scaling our computer vision systems that power safety intelligence across industrial environments. We are looking for a strong leader who has worked on computer vision at scale. You will: • Lead and coach a team of computer vision engineers, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and a culture of collaboration. • Oversee projects from concept to deployment, ensuring smooth coordination across research, data, and platform teams. • Shape and execute strategy for how Protex’s vision systems evolve, balancing innovation with operational scalability. • Drive delivery by aligning team efforts with company objectives, setting clear priorities, and managing timelines and dependencies. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure compliant, ethical, and customer-focused AI solutions. • Scale team impact by refining development workflows, improving data quality processes, and optimising model deployment pipelines. • Manage strategic vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, defining scopes of work, and fostering strong, long-term partnerships to enhance data operations and model quality. What You’ll Need • 5+ years of software or AI engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or technical management role. • Experience in understanding computer vision in production. • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, delivering complex technical projects on time. • Strong project management and communication skills, with experience translating strategic goals into actionable engineering plans. • Background in AI, ML, or data-driven software systems, or experience managing teams that build such systems. • A collaborative mindset: skilled at creating clarity, structure, and alignment across fast-moving teams. • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent. Nice To Have • Hands-on familiarity with computer vision, deep learning, or model deployment pipelines (e.g., PyTorch, TensorRT, ONNX). • Experience scaling software systems in a startup or high-growth environment. • Exposure to data governance, model evaluation, or ML Ops practices.
