Reporting to the Vice President, Credit Risk, you’ll oversee underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and risk management practices to ensure business growth aligns with prudent risk standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in credit analytics, team leadership, and knowledge of the US subprime lending market. What You’ll Do Credit Risk Strategy Execution Develop and implement credit strategies for US lending products, collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Design, implement, and optimize credit strategies for sub-prime lending, including origination, adjudication, underwriting, and portfolio management Maintain and enhance underwriting analytics, including approve/decline logic, loan assignment, refinancing, and eligibility criteria for marketing and risk-based pricing Monitor loan portfolio performance, including delinquency, charge-off, yield, and concentration risks Risk Monitoring Compliance Oversee daily work and analysis of the credit risk team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and actionable insights Monitor compliance with risk appetites and policies, ensuring frameworks align with regulatory standards Identify emerging risks, analyze key trends, and support proactive strategies to mitigate exposures Recommend policy, product, and strategy changes based on risk findings Leadership Collaboration Lead, mentor, and manage a team of analysts, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities Collaborate with IT, Product, Marketing, and other departments to integrate risk management into business initiatives Deliver clear, actionable insights to senior executives with strong communication and presentation skills Analytics Innovation Leverage advanced data science and machine learning capabilities to enhance credit operations and decisioning processes Conduct in-depth analysis using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or equivalent tools to generate insights and forecasts Support the development of lifetime customer value models and loss forecasting methodologies Partner with lead generation platforms (LeadPoint, LendingTree, Lead Prosper) and leverage Ping Tree bidding systems to optimize acquisition quality What You’ll Bring to the Table Expertise in consumer credit risk management, particularly in subprime lending Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence business outcomes in a matrix environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for both technical and non-technical audiences Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented mindset Curiosity and creativity, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation Education + Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field (professional certification preferred) 10+ years of experience in consumer credit risk roles within financial services Demonstrated success in leading and managing analytical teams Strong knowledge of US subprime lending, associated risks, and regulatory frameworks Proficiency with credit risk tools, data manipulation, and statistical software (SAS, SQL, R, Python) Experience with lead generation platforms and Ping Tree bidding systems preferred Ready to shape the future of credit risk management while driving growth and responsible lending?
