Charge Entry Specialist - In Person Position

About the position The Charge Entry Specialist at Tennessee Cancer Specialists plays a crucial role in the revenue cycle process by accurately entering office and hospital charges. This in-person position requires attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and a strong understanding of coding guidelines to ensure the timely and accurate processing of charges. The specialist will work closely with patients and team members to maintain the integrity of billing operations, contributing to the overall mission of providing compassionate care to cancer patients and their families. Responsibilities • Review daily charges for completeness and accuracy. • Identify charge form errors and make necessary system corrections. • Provide exceptional customer service through respectful communication and active listening. • Audit encounters against scheduled patients to identify inconsistencies. • Post charges accurately within 24 hours of charted encounters. • Assist with additional tasks as needed. Requirements • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred. • Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required or must be obtained within one year. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is essential. • At least one year of prior experience in a similar position is preferred.
